(Dined 04/29/24 MO @ 1:00pm and twice before): You should know - yeah - I loved this brand of Japanese fast food! I was running errands around town when I had a sudden urge for Yoshinoya's Burbank location as I drove by. I wasn't going to lie, this was one of my favorite eatery brands since I was a kid when my dad also loved it and would use his coupons to buy he and the family meals or when I tagged along with him to work at the properties. I primarily frequented the East Hollywood and Glendale locations, respectively, because they were the most convenient for me. However, I was often in the Burbank area for various work, so it amazed me that I rarely stopped here. I had some plans later in the day and didn't want to necessarily spoil my appetite, so I simply needed something of substance to hold me over. Ya or no... would this longtime standby be just what I needed!? PURCHASE Tokyo Fried Chicken w/Hanabi Mayo Dipping Sauce 5pc ($3.49): Very Korean fried chicken (KFC!) in nature, I was disappointed in the random nugget-sized pieces. Having said that, I enjoyed how they tasted with the crispy crunchy outside (did I spy MSG crystals!?) and the moist tender meat inside, and the dipping sauce had a nice tiny tinge of spiciness. These were nice but I wished the pieces were bigger or more uniform in size. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=kImiuUIYf_WLGJZH9CwtqA Mango Lemonade Boba Regular Size ($3.39): They had me at mango and boba! Yoshinoya finally jumped on the boba/bubble tea/pearls (whatever you wanted to call these chewy tapioca balls!) trend, so I had to give it a shot. With a hint of mango flavor and more lemonade-focused, this was a refreshing drink (please more mango flavor). There was a decent amount of chewy soft boba (I would've liked more), but I felt there was more ice than needed. I felt very "eh" about their attempt at this boba drink. At the end of the day, If I were to have my boba drinks in this manner, it was simply best with Thai tea. If I were to have it with any other flavors, I preferred it as a smoothie or slushie. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=m3VyvV3FZEwDRlSj--sSiQ SERVICE I actually placed my order using their app, so all I had to do was show up, go to the pick-up area, and grab my order - easy-peasy! PARKING (FREE) They had their own smallish lot - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A spacious boxy layout https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=9d3YQdwkJ5LM2-gcq5_nAA inside filled with many booths, chairs, and tables, an order counter that looked into the kitchen, and a highly legible menu directly above the order counter. There were a few promotional posters hung on the walls, but this was a rather clean and cleared dining area. Plenty of natural lighting came through the surrounding glass windows and doors while soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs while pop music quietly played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Burbank's Yoshinoya location was a nice change of place from my two regular spots, and now that I knew what to expect I'd certainly consider this place in the future since I was near it often. Although not included in this review, on my earlier visits, I ordered the more traditional bowls https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=dLYxjmZIoVJQWQMPucGoRQ which were as good as I expected them to be. Speaking solely about what I ordered on this latest visit, I couldn't say I'd order these same items again, but at least I gave them a try. The prices were very comparable, the portion size good (bigger chicken pieces, please), and the service was easy and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL would-be paid experience was around $7.50 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, at least they accepted my credit card of choice on their app (not in-store)... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

How did this location receive a 2.5 star rating is beyond me??!! I had a very decent visit minus a tad bit of confusion about 'no public restrooms,' initial shock. This was a convenient Yoshinoya branch to drive to anywhere in Burbank, CA. as there existed a private parking lot out back. I was in a rush trying to locate public restrooms here, but at first, I thought, 'what a nightmare that a Yoshinoya doesn't come with public restrooms, not possible,' Well it turned out that I was wrong on that front~ After I ordered my veggie/beef plate, and I started eating late dinner in my car, I looked outback the rear view mirror and spotted 2 Public restroom doors waving at me, 'ah-ha!!!! They were located on the outskirts of the restaurant.' I could have asked but was exploring this venue all on my own, so I'm glad I didn't ask the staff about hidden restrooms. I could have recalled taking more than 3x pics here, but I'll scroll through my camera roll adding more pics. Customer Service: perhaps they can't find enough staff working closing shift, but it was quite late, so there were only 2 staff working at the time I placed my order. They were definitely short-staffed. Alls understandable~I received my order within a reasonable time except the cashier left out my extra beef juice by accident. No worries, they gave a LOT of quantities here, and I even had leftovers. I just took a star off for no extra juice given upon ordering but will update after next visit. I'll be back again. Perhaps I'll visit not so late next time so that there would be more staff working: it was just 1 chef and 1 cashier when I visited this branch a couples weeks ago. Thanks for being here.
